Recovering Community: Mental health film and conversation event

May 2, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

‘People can and do recover from even the most severe mental health challenges. Their lives aren’t broken.’- HealingVoices film

Join us for this very exciting global event! To celebrate the DVD release of HealingVoices, a groundbreaking social action documentary changing the conversation around “mental illness”, we will be holding a special screening of the film followed by a community forum – including a panel Q&A with the Many Voices Collective, and members of the South Australian mental health and public health community.

Many Voices Collective are a small bunch of passionate people who come from and work within various mental health settings across Adelaide, including people with lived experience. Our work was inspired by the HealingVoices documentary and we have held a number of events including the Many Voices Festival 2016, a Womadelaide 2017 conversation stall, and film screenings. We are dreaming big about how society and services could be different and hope that you can join us so that together, we can change the conversation.

Tickets are $2 – $10 at the door, according to ability to pay.

Doors at 6pm and screening starts at 6:45pm.

There will also be live music and light refreshments for sale.
